The Heat Basketball Club was established in 1998 by Larrry Ross and Howard Hamilton. After traveling to the Hickory area for their sons to play, they decided to establish an organization that would provide an opportunity for players of varying skill levels to further develop their basketball skills in their own town. By developing their skills they would increase their self confidence and compete nationally. The Heat program has won a state championship each year of its existing along with several national championships.  Several former players are now playing in the NBA, NFL and overseas.

 

Special thanks to Coach Travis McEntyre and Coach Gary Lowrance.  These two men started at the beginning with Coach Ross and Coach Hamilton.  They paved the way, working all kinks out for the present coaches.
